PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT
HOMEFUL
An exploration of innovation in the housing sphere to rescue society from collapse .
The SilverStar House is a one-of-a-kind experimental housing project. Recycling a decommissioned trailer into a modern, eco-friendly dwelling that blends modernity with simplicity. The docu-series Homeful follows Ruby as she explores the societal conditions that are creating the housing crisis and the world events that shaped her perspective. Soaring property prices, fluctuating interest rates, high cost of construction, and the covid-19 crisis have dramatically changed the landscape of the housing market.
If ever there was a moment for alternative housing solutions to shine it is now. We ask, while the world literally burns, who is thinking about the future in an optimistic way? The answer is, tons of people! Humans are nothing if not resourceful. Someone said “ The animal that does not adapt, dies”. Perhaps the traditional housing model is a dinosaur that is nearing its critical adapt-or-die moment. Maybe these challenges are signs of the end..... Not for society but simply for the old financial model.
Visionaries all over the world are calling in an exciting future where humans coexist with nature in harmony. A future where design meets sustainability and society meets vitality. Homeful brings to light stories like Ruby's (and others) from the post-pandemic housing market and the movements that are carving new ways forward. Imagine a world where shelter is seen as a basic human right rather than financial product and geographic community is restored.
What makes a house a home?
Is our experience of community endangered?
Can we design homes that help solve humanity's most pressing challenges?

It is common to see new housing developments advertising the way their designs create a feeling of separation between dwellings. Ultimately leading to a feeling of isolation.
